Online dating services experience

I suspect that the answer to this question strongly depends on your goals for using the online dating service. It will differ depending on whether you're looking for casual sex, a serious partner, or just friends. In general, the following features are areas that I've noticed could use some user experience improvement on many dating sites: All of the improvements listed help people to use your site well and reduce the chances of a bad date or bad match (while increasing the chances of getting a date), and when people are using the site well and getting dates that aren't awful it's a better user experience for everyone involved.

(Though, in that respect, I guess I do have e Harmony and Match to thank for my writing career.) Armed with years of slow-churned cynicism, I took to the internet to see if others shared my experiences.

What I uncovered were some harsh realities about online dating that no one ever talks about.

After the jump, some things you might not have known… Most of the member profiles you’ll find are inactive.

Online dating sites love to boast about the millions of members they have.

But as it turns out, they’re heaving shovelfuls of statistical manure at you.
