The commonwealth laid out its case against a former New Jersey teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his students over a period of several years at his Pennsylvania home in Upper Mount Bethel Township.
Prosecutors say 40-year-old Joshua Mohlmann, a former math teacher at an elementary school in Harmony Township, Warren County initiated the relationship with the girl who's now 22 years old via instant messenger.
Over the course of the following months the victim alleges Mohlmann would kiss and grope her eventually leading to a sexual relationship.
During Thursday's preliminary hearing, Trooper Matthew Villano testified that according to the victim, the defendant used babysitting as a guise to have her stay over at his home.
According to the victim, the two would engage in sex acts in the living room of the home, sometimes while his wife and children were under the same roof.
Trooper Villano testified the relationship continued during the victim's high school years and first years in college.
According to the victim, the alleged relationship came to an end in March 2015."I find it sickening and I can't put in words the severity for this type of case," said Assistant DA Anthony Casola."This is a situation where we have someone who's supposed to be molding the youth and protecting the future of the community and instead he's using the classroom as a place to prey on students," he said.
